A stunning experience, 3 days touring the wonderful wildflower country, north of Perth in Western Australia with 24 dedicated floral designers from throughout Australia. It was my first trip back to Perth since shifting to Tasmania and it was quite nostalgic meeting up with students with whom I had gone to Flowers Design School and visiting places in WA that one doesn't visit unless a tourist. Gregor Lersch is one of the worlds best Master Florists, author of over 25 floristry books, who travels the world teaching. Continuing on from the inspiration gathered on the tour, it was time to turn our hands to converting this inspiration into botanic masterpieces at workshops held in a shearing shed and at a typical country Hotel.

The culmination of the Wildflower Tour was being a member of Gregor's Demonstration Support Team for a presentation at the University of WA auditorium. Approximately 12 of us worked solidly for 2 days preparing his designs. The Demonstration was THE Floral event of the year and Gregor presented four themes -Tropical, Traditional, Modern and Australian Natives and the huge audience was enchanted as each of his design windows were revealed.
